JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Tech Unreal Programmer will be the first point of contact for technical issues and improvements. You will work closely within a human size team of artists, designers and programmers to find the most effective ways to improve the game development process. Making great tools along the way.

We are in the preproduction of our second game, with five times the budget we had for the first one THE MARSUPILAMI. Although we are not limiting ourselves to only one genre of games, our current production is a Multiplayer 3D Platformer inspired by games like Mario 3D World or It takes two.

 

 

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advise the team on the technical feasibility and possible risks of new features
  • Contribute to the optimisation effort and to the excellence of the project
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and implement solutions 
  • Optimize game code when needed.
  • Collaborate with game designers and artists in a very independent team setup.
  • Create tools and improve technical environment

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong knowledge on Unreal Engine 4 PC/Consoles projects.
  • Strong experience in C++ and blueprint for UNREAL ENGINE 4
  • Minimum 5 years of professional game development experience.
  • Serious, rigorous, organized and a team player.
  • Have shipped a game.
  • Fluent written and spoken English or French.
  • Experimented with version control such as Perforce
  • Experimented on consoles porting and cross platform best practices would be an asset.
  • Experience with Xbox series, PS5 would be an asset.
  • Experience on Backend (save, complex engine problem), dll integration would be an asset.
  • Having an interest into new technologies, the rendering and/or IK animation would be an asset.
